Design blogs to follow

Hello to the readers! This is my first blog post ever. In this post I will mention three different design blogs that are pretty cool and are definitely worth looking at. Well then, lets get to it!

The first blog I want to mention is “Spoon & Tamago“, which shows off Japanese art, design and culture. From this blog you really get a sense of what culture is like, just by looking at all of the pictures. It includes many different types of art such as video, painting, photography, and sculpture. It has some great design ideas! A couple of design ideas that I really liked from this blog were the “Tokyo Metro Map Necktie”, which had the metro map printed on the inside of the tie, and the chopsticks reinvented which were two chopsticks fitting into one. I find it amazing how something as simple as the chopstick can be reinvented, and if it can be reinvented then what else can as well? There are a world of possibilities.

The next blog I have here to mention is Logo Design Love. I like the layout of this blog in the way that it shows snippets of each post and if you see one you might like, then you can click on it to continue reading. This is a great blog to follow as it shows off a variety of different logo design ideas. One of the first posts I saw from the blog was about The Chain Reaction Project, an organization to help out the world’s least developed nations. Their idea about connecting people together and the way they do so is quite brilliant. I especially like their logo and their business card idea.

The third and final blog I have to show is Type For You. As the name suggests, this blog focuses on typography, something every graphic designer needs to master. It shows great examples of typography being used on magazines, posters, billboards, videos, etc. It’s all about the type. I know I’m not too great with typography so this is something I will probably be referring to when I’m stuck on a design and need new ideas. These typographers really know what they’re doing.

Well, thats it for this post. I hope the reader enjoyed this and will follow these blogs that I posted about.
’til next time, John
